Why it keeps coming back

This test measures one afternoon of math. It doesn't measure the teacher you'll be.

On the test

56 questions in 90 minutes, an on-screen four-function calculator, and your state's passing score to clear.

On you

After a miss or two, it gets hard to keep believing the plan still works.

And it isn't right

A general skills test shouldn't keep a capable person out of the classroom.

The plan

Three steps. The first one takes a minute.

  1. 1

    Sign up free

Your email and a code open your class seat, two free skills and this week's practice exam.

  2. 2

    Show up Monday

Coach teaches the topic live, and you answer every problem in the room with the same calculator and reference sheet you'll get on test day.

  3. 3

    Keep going between classes

Work your free skills, sit the weekly practice exam, and walk back through every question you missed.

Inside the class

You're not watching a lecture. You're answering with the room.

Coach works every problem live while you answer on your own screen, then the reveal shows the why and how the room answered.

Problem 1 Praxis 1.2 · Ratios & Proportions

In a paint mixing project, the ratio of cups of white paint to cups of black paint is 5:6. If there are 72 cups of black paint, how many cups of white paint are there?

A 7% 2

C 13% 4
D 10% 3

Correct answer: B

Coach revealed the explanation

Step 1: What do you want?
We're looking for how many cups of white paint.

Step 2: What do you have?
The ratio of white paint to black paint is 5:6, and there are 72 cups of black paint.

Step 3: What's the connection?
Set the two ratios equal, white over black, and cross multiply: w72 = 56, so 6w = 360 and w = 60.

Before you sign up

Questions people ask first.

Is the class really free?

Yes. Every free class is open to anyone with a free account. You sign up with your email and a code, and no card is ever asked for.

Do I need a camera or a microphone?

No. You watch Coach work each problem live and answer on your own screen. The chat is where you talk to the room.

Can I join from my phone?

Yes. The class runs in your browser on a phone, a tablet or a computer, with nothing to download.

What if I can't make it live?

Every class is recorded. One replay is free to watch, and members open every recording.

What time is the class where I live?

Every time on this page shows in Eastern and in your own time zone, so the countdown is right wherever you are.

Do I need my own calculator?

No. The four-function calculator is on screen in the room, like the one you get on test day.

What score do I need to pass?

Each state sets its own passing score for Praxis Core Math, so check your state's licensing page or ask your program.

What is on the line

Every attempt that misses is another $90 and at least 28 more days before you can sit it again, and your program start waits with it.

Sign up free, show up Monday, and work your free skills between classes. That's how you walk in already knowing the math and walk out one step closer to your own classroom.

No card. Free stays free. I got your back.
